Children are very important to the Meridian Street United Methodist Church community, especially on Sunday mornings. Disciple Kids is the name for our Sunday child care and Sunday school ministries. The staff and caregivers who spend time with your children on Sunday mornings have been screened, trained, and are supervised. We offer a wonderful and safe place for children of all ages to learn about the love of God.

Lambs are our youngest children from birth to age three. This is a safe, happy place for your children while you attend worship. Hugs, smiles, songs and playing abound!  This room is staffed with professional caregivers as well as parent volunteers. Classes for Lambs meet during all worship times.

Little Disciples are our children who turn 3 or 4 before September 1 and are not yet in kindergarten.  Our lessons help us know how wonderful God is and how much he cares for us. Each lesson includes songs, stories, crafts and playing. It’s such fun!  We have a preschool teacher in this classroom with parent volunteer aides.  Classes for Little Disciples meet during all worship times.

Disciple Kids is our Sunday school program for children kindergarten through fifth grade.  The name and the programming follow Meridian Street’s legacy of discipleship, building a foundation of Christian learning, faithful service, and mission outreach using the theme “Faith, Friends, and Fun.”

• Faith - includes learning Christian values, Bible stories, and faith lessons during the Disciple Kids programming on Sunday mornings and in special events throughout the year.
• Friends - fellowship is a large piece of the Christian discipleship model and is important to children as they build a strong and lasting relationship with their church family.
• Fun - learning about God and Jesus should be fun. It makes the children want to participate and learn.

Disciple Kids start in the worship service on Sunday mornings and are dismissed to their classes after the children’s time during the 10:30 a.m. worship service.
