Brief Description: The purpose of Family Ministry and Neighborhood Outreach at Meridian Street United Methodist Church is to equip families with the opportunities and resources to experience God’s love and grace through Jesus Christ and lead families on a journey which continually strengthens and deepens their relationship with God. Do you love weddings? Do you have a heart for ministry with people who may not be members of our church but are turning to us in an important moment in their lives?
We are seeking to fill an open position on the church staff - our wedding coordinator. Meridian Street’s wedding coordinator is the primary point of contact for all couples getting married at Meridian Street and oversees all the weddings that occur at the church, on average 8-10 weddings a year. This includes meeting with couples several times from the initial tour to the wedding day, coordinating with church staff and outside vendors in the months leading up to the ceremony, and directing and overseeing the rehearsal and ceremony. The wedding coordinator needs to have a flexible schedule to meet with couples throughout the week and availability on weekends for rehearsals and the wedding ceremony. Time commitment per week varies depending on the wedding schedule. Weekends with a wedding will require roughly 5-6 hours, while other weeks may have 0-1 hour required.
